Biography
John is an accomplished still life photographer with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He originally got his start assisting for advertising photographer Craig Cutler (in the 90s advertising world) and began his shooting career working for editorial clients such as Vogue, Glamour, W and InStyle.
John is often influenced and inspired by the work of classic still life photographers such as Paul Outerbridge, Irving Penn, Joseph Sudek as well as many of his contemporaries, clients, technology and his life. In an ever-increasing digital world, he still loves the hands-on nature of still life photography and the focus and concentration it requires.
Today he primarily focuses on cosmetic and fashion still life as well as his own personal projects. He has won awards from PDN, American Photo and Communication Arts and has been teaching himself CGI during the pandemic for reasons that have yet to be revealed.
John is originally from South Carolina and graduated from Duke University.
